Friendship with the Lord.

In a generation where women empowerment, feminism and girl power is on an all-time high. I want to remind us of that relationship that everything else is built on; our friendship/relationship with Christ. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all about women coming together. However, our true goal is for women to unite in Christ and be everything they’re called to be.

This notion that women can’t get along or work together is both destructive to the body and played out. Let's stop giving power to the things that divide us, remember we’re stronger together! In order for women to get along and for women to come together for the glory of God we must be able to, in our secret place build a relationship with God, cultivate a friendship with God. It is not always easy to cultivate a relationship with Christ but in our relationship with Him, we cultivate intimacy, vulnerability and patience. It teaches us how to be still and how to communicate. I understand making friends can be hard. It's even harder when all parties are not on the same page, so as christian women our ‘unifying factor’ is our love and devotion for Christ.

Proverb 18: 24 says it best, if you want friends, you must show yourself friendly.
Now I’m not saying that we need to be best friends with every woman we meet because that’s just not possible; we all have different views on life, different values and temperaments. But I can assure us that having a solid intimate relationship with the father gives us grace to relate with everyone in a graceful and peaceful manner.

This means we must be open to pruning, we must be willing to pursue the better version of yourself every day; iron sharpens iron. Don’t complain about lack of a supportive community if you're not ready to admit when we're wrong, not always have it together and being called out. Many of us want community but we’re always saying there’s no supportive community. But aren’t we the community? If the community is not supportive doesn’t that mean the challenge lies with us too?

God is looking for women who will avail themselves to fulfill his purpose on earth; this purpose is not limited to just praying, fasting, reading the bible, posting scriptures on social media. This purpose can only be fulfilled by covenant communities; women coming together with one common goal; to please God.
I pray that we will allow the Holy spirit to do a new thing in us and that we continuously avail ourselves to His call.

With that being said, welcome to the Sassy and Saved Movement. I can guarantee that your life will never be the same.
